1980年代に寺田鉄工所で製作された非常に希少なアームチェア。
寺田鉄工所は、倉俣史郎、マーク・ニューソン、玄・ベルトーらと協働し、数々の名作を生み出した日本屈指の金属家具工房として知られています。

本作はデザイナー名が明らかではないものの、当時の寺田鉄工所が持つ高度な金属加工技術と、工芸的な緊張感が色濃く反映された一脚。
製作数がきわめて少なく、市場に出ること自体が稀なヴィンテージ作品です。

寺田鉄工所は、業務用フェンスにしか使われていなかったエキスパンドメタルに倉俣史郎が可能性を見出し、同社が製作したことで『How High the Moon』をはじめとする名作が誕生したことでも知られています。
黒子に徹しながらも、デザイナーの意図を完璧に形にする、日本の職人集団の精神が宿ったプロダクトです。

本品もまた、潔い構造と控えめな佇まいの中に、1980年代日本のインダストリアル・クラフトの魅力が凝縮されています。

This rare vintage armchair was manufactured in the 1980s by Terada Seisakujo, a renowned metal workshop known for producing iconic works by Shiro Kuramata, Marc Newson, Gen Betou, and other leading designers.

Although the designer of this piece remains unknown, the chair embodies the refined metalworking expertise that defined Terada Seisakujo during this era.
Only a very limited number were produced, making it an exceptionally scarce piece on the market today.

Terada Seisakujo gained international recognition for manufacturing Kuramata’s celebrated works—most notably How High the Moon—created by reinterpreting industrial expanded metal previously used only for commercial fencing.
The workshop is often described as a collective of master craftsmen, dedicated to bringing a designer’s vision to life with absolute precision.

This chair reflects that ethos: a quiet tension between structure and material, capturing the essence of Japanese industrial craftsmanship of the 1980s.
