天童木工の成形合板技術を象徴する名作のひとつです。
その名の通り“兜”を思わせるフォルムは、背からアームへと一体で流れる大胆な曲線によって構成されています。
身体を包み込むように設計された背もたれは、ゆったりと体を預けることができ、肘掛けとしても機能する快適な座り心地を実現しています。
成形合板ならではのしなやかさと強度を兼ね備えた構造は、視覚的な軽やかさと実用性を両立。

The Kabuto Chair, designed by Isamu Kenmochi, is one of the most iconic pieces produced by Tendo Mokko.
Named after the traditional Japanese helmet “kabuto,” the chair features a sculptural silhouette formed by a continuous curved surface that integrates the backrest and armrests.
The generously curved back wraps around the body, offering both ergonomic support and a relaxed seating experience.
It allows the user to naturally rest their arms, enhancing comfort and usability.
Utilizing Tendo Mokko’s advanced molded plywood technique, the chair achieves both structural strength and visual lightness.
This particular piece features a refined purple upholstery, adding a subtle yet distinctive character to any space.
